| Sildenafil Citrate ® helps men with ED respond to sexual
stimulation. When sexually excited, this drug allows the
arteries in the penis to relax and enlarge, thereby allowing the
flow of blood into the penis. When the arteries in the penis
expand and harden the veins that carry blood away from the penis
compress restricting the flow of blood out of the penis. This
mechanism is controlled by Sildenafil Citrate ® which controls
the flow of blood out, thereby resulting in an erection. But it
is to be noted that Sildenafil Citrate ® is not a hormone or an
aphrodisiac. It works only when men is sexually excited. |
How to take Sildenafil Citrate®? |
| Sildenafil Citrate ® comes as a tablet is to be taken by
mouth. Sildenafil Citrate ® is available in three different
doses, i.e. 25mg, 50mg and 100mg respectively. Sildenafil
Citrate ® is taken as needed, not on a regular dosing schedule.
However, the best time to take Sildenafil Citrate ® is about 1
hour before sexual activity, but you can take the medication any
time from 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity.
Sildenafil usually should not be taken more than once every 24
hours. You can take Sildenafil with or without food. Before
taking Sildenafil Citrate®, follow your doctor's directions and
the guidelines. |
Side effects of Sildenafil Citrate ®. |
Like all medications, Sildenafil Citrate ® may cause
several side effects:
Headache
Heartburn
Diarrhea
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Flushing (feeling of warmth)

medication for men suffering from ED. However, there are
several precautions kept in mind while taking Sildenafil
Citrate ®.

are taking or have recently taken nitrates.

dental surgery, consult with your doctor or dentist that you
are taking Sildenafil Citrate ®.
